چکیده
We study the static three-quark (3Q) potential in detail using SU(3) lattice QCD with 12 × 24 at β = 5.7 and 16 × 32 at β = 5.8, 6.0 at the quenched level. For more than 200 patterns of the 3Q systems, we numerically derive 3Q ground-state potential V3Q from the 3Q Wilson loop with the smearing technique, which reduces excited-state contaminations. The lattice QCD data of V3Q are well reproduced within a few % deviation by a sum of a constant, the two-body Coulomb term and the three-body linear confinement term σ3QLmin, with Lmin the minimal value of total length of color flux tubes linking the three quarks. From the comparison with the Q-Q̄ potential, we find a universality of the string tension as σ3Q ≃ σQQ̄ and the one-gluon-exchange result for Coulomb coefficients, A3Q ≃ 1 2AQQ̄.

The DESY-Swansea Collaboration performed numerical simulations investigating SU(2) lattice gauge theory at non-zero chemical potential with one staggered quark flavour in the adjoint representation. This lattice model has similar features to QCD itself and its study gives interesting insights into some open problems of high density quark matter. In particular the rôle of the " sign problem " ca...

The heavy-quark expansion for inclusive semi-leptonic B decays introduces Λ̄ and λ1, which are matrix elements in heavy-quark effective field theory. We review how they can be obtained from an analysis of the heavy quark mass dependence of heavy-light meson masses in lattice QCD. We present preliminary results for the bottom quark mass, mb, using Λ̄ and λ1 for the Bs meson from a 2+1 sea-flavor u...

A model for the dressed quark-gluon vertex, at zero gluon momentum, is formed from a nonperturbative extension of the two Feynman diagrams that contribute at 1-loop in perturbation theory. The required input is an existing ladder-rainbow model Bethe-Salpeter kernel from an approach based on the Dyson-Schwinger equations; no new parameters are introduced. The model includes an Ansatz for the tri...

We study exotic static 3-body potentials, utilizing generalized Wilson Loops in SU(3) lattice QCD. For the quark-antiquark-gluon techniques we address the angles of 0, 45, 60, 90, 120, 135 and 180 degrees, between the quark-gluon and the antiquark-gluon segments. We calculate the form of the static potential and discuss whether, or not, two-body interactions exist between the three different bo...
